"I was about to walk out the door on Monday morning for work when my wife said I turned up the furnace and it has never come on. We have a new baby girl so heat is more of a priority than normal. I called BEST at 7:30 am on Monday morning expecting to leave a message with an answering service and I spoke to an actual person. The woman I spoke to scheduled a call for 10am-Noon that day. I was not late to work because I spent a total of 5 mins on the phone and it was handled. My wife called me at 10:45 and said BEST was here and said it needed a new part that cost $125 for the part and the labor plus the diagnosis fee of $69. They fixed the furnace and were out the door 55 minutes later. My wife said the tech was very nice and explained everything to her clearly. He wore foot covers too!That my friends is service! "Our A/C stopped working and I called BEST and they told me they would be out at noon and he was here at noon. His name was Dave he was a very fine and helpful man. He found that our compressor was bad. He was very honest about everything. He gave us some options and prices to replace the A/C and our old furnace. They had a gentleman named James come out and install our new system. He did a wonderful job and we really appreciated the fine work he did. Dave came back after he was finished and inspected his work and made sure everything was properly installed. "Finally an honest company. I learned my lesson like so many of your previous customers listed here. Your technician was nice and spoke to me like I was a person and not a dollar figure. He explained to me what the problem was. If I did the repair today the diagnosis charge would be dropped and he showed me the price that was in a laminated price book. I thought that showed them to be very honest. I did the repair and saved $175 from what I was gonna have to pay with another company.It also came with a 2 year parts and labor warranty. "

"My AC tripped the breaker on Sunday the day before the 4th of July. I called BEST and Jason came out within the hour. It was not immediately apparent what the issue was, but Jason was great to work with and he charged me the weekend rate, but that is understandable for taking time on the holiday and weekend. He actually did a typical cleaning service on the unit, so the charge was less painful. It turned out that the compressor was shot in just less than a week. Jason came back out and confirmed the death of my unit. He offered a new one at a REALLY reasonable price and installed it the next day. I will recommend these guys to everyone that asks me if I know an honest heating and cooling service company. "

I came home from work when it was 100+ degrees to find my air conditioner not running. I called at 6pm and someone answered the phone. The gentleman I talked to was very nice, he explained the pricing to me upfront and said someone will arrive in hour. A very nice gentleman showed up exactly 1 hour later. "This review comes courtesy of Angies List. Best Heating, Cooling, and Electric installed a new air conditioner, poured a concrete pad for the air conditioner, installed a variable speed furnace, air purifier, water heater, connected everything to the new gas meter which was installed by the gas company, and corrected and sealed some existing duct work to operate more efficiently. We were able to reduce some of the costs by removing the water heater ourselves. We also were able to keep our existing equipment and sell privately to offset costs further. They also filed all of the energy companies rebate information and provided all of the completed warranty certificates at the end of the job. Member Comments: We called several Heating and Cooling businesses to get estimates on replacing our furnace and air conditioner. We were converting from LP gas to natural gas and wanted to update our systems rather than convert our existing equipment. They discussed a number of options that worked with our budget, suggested ways to increase the efficiency of our existing duct work, and gave us a great price to update our water heater at the same time. They began the job immediately following the accepted estimate and were finished within a couple of days. They cleaned up everything very well before they left and talked us through all of the features of the system again after the installation was complete. We were very happy with the service we received they were always able to answer any questions we had. We were very pleased with the quality of the equipment and had peace of mind with a 10 year warranty on parts and labor and lifetime warranty on the system. We would use Best Heating, Cooling, and Electric again."

"The gentleman that checked out the old furnace was very thorough and showed me what the inside looked like. To me it looked like a road map because it had so many cracks in it. He checked to see if there was any carbonmonoxide being emitted. Thank goodness, there was none but he said the furnace should be replaced. Since I was going through the Red Rock Community Program through the Ankeny office for help a claim was made, approved and your installer was here last Thursday and installed a new furnace. He was very efficient , knowledgeable and everything was cleaned up before he left. I am so satisfied with your company, employees and their work ethics I will recommend you to anyone who needs your services. Thanks again. "

They were exceptional on the phone to convey my issue with the technician. "I used Best Heating, Cooling & Electric Inc in September to check on my furnace and correct an electrical problem. I highly recommend Best Heating, Cooling & Electric Inc Company. I had set an appointment with them on Monday but they actually showed up on Friday because they had free time. So they came out early, may be some people wouldn’t like that but we happened to have available time. The technician was not here for very long but he got everything done. He was gone like in thirty to forty minutes. He went right to work. He told me what exactly the problem was. He wrote it down on a paper for me. He also changed a minor setting in the furnace. He was able to fix an electrical problem too. We had a molten switch in the kitchen and one of the switches was broken into half. I didn’t want to fool around with it because it was sparking, so I wanted to be sure it was okay. He checked that for me and it was okay. He also checked the box in the garage. So he followed up on everything. He recommended a kind of a filter for the furnace, not the one that’s too tight because we had trouble with the air getting through it and my husband later went and picked up the right kind. When he was here the first time, I think it was the last year, he had told us that we were putting the filter in a wrong place. I think there is a booklet that tells one exactly where to put it but I really haven’t gone trough it. So, the technician this time showed me where the filter is and now I know incase it needs to be changed. Best Heating, Cooling & Electric Inc Company also has electric service, which is wonderful. They do maintenance as well otherwise I would have had two major contractors for two different jobs. That is fantastic. They work very efficiently. I signed up a contract with them to have them out on a regular basis. It was $350 which will cover three different services. That way they will call me and I don’t have to call them to come out. I trust them to do that. They are extremely professional. They provide very effective and speedy service. They talk to me directly they just don’t walk out the door and send the bill. They clearly tell me what the problem was and how they fixed it. Their price is very reasonable in comparison to other companies in the area. My experience with them has been excellent. I have two more services left in my contract so I would use them again. I saved 10% this particular time and will save that much each time there after. I figured that at the price I pay them it will be easier for them to call me because there are so many other things in my home that need maintenance too. I’m thrilled with them. I’m very glad that I found a company that I could recommend to others."
